about deck & ledger

Built for the financial side of real business.

Deck & Ledger was created for business owners who are good at what they do, but do not always have time to keep the books, HST, monthly reporting, and year-end moving alongside the business.

what we noticed

Good businesses do not always have current books.

Not because owners do not care. Because the work comes first.

01

receipts get missed.

They start in trucks, pockets, counters, emails, and camera rolls. Then the month keeps moving.

02

statements pile up.

Bank and credit card activity keeps growing, even when nobody has stopped to organize it yet.

03

invoices sit in emails.

Sales, supplier bills, and customer records are there — just not always in one place.

04

hst records fall behind.

Deadlines come fast when the records behind the business are not kept current month after month.

Rei, founder of Deck & Ledger

founder / origin

Built from the way small businesses actually run.

Deck & Ledger was built by Rei after seeing how easily the paperwork behind a business can fall behind the work itself.

Growing up around family business made the problem real.

The jobs, the customers, the bills, the receipts, the tax deadlines, and all the small records that are easy to leave for later — he saw how much of that gets carried by the owner.

Accounting work made the pattern impossible to miss.

Through reconciliations, payables, receivables, audit support, and financial records, the same issue kept showing up in a more formal way: good businesses can move fast while the books are still trying to catch up.

Deck & Ledger was built around that gap.

Accounting and bookkeeping that stays connected from everyday transactions through HST, monthly reporting, tax preparation, and year-end.

why we built it differently

The financial side should be under control before tax time.

Deck & Ledger was not built around complicated accounting language. It was built around consistent monthly work, direct communication, and numbers business owners can actually use.

ledgerflow

a client portal built because email was not enough.

LedgerFlow gives clients a simpler way to upload monthly documents, track what has been submitted, and keep each period together.
